Continuing our efforts from last week, we will be putting the actual roof on the Demonstration Green Roof Shed. This is a great opportunity to learn more about how green roofs are made. In addition, under the guidance of our Sustainable Building Professional, Bert Bradley, we will be building our Rammed Earth Benches. This consists of shoveling and mixing sand and gravel to create the mixture that will later be layered and tamped down into bench molds for the outdoor classroom seating area. This is a great project where you can learn the process while having hands on experience actually doing it. Kids and teens are welcome. Come for the whole day or just a few hours. Bring your gloves, a water bottle (to cut down on waste), a shovel or hand tools (if you have them) and your community spirit. Snacks and water provided.
